Cigarette Butts
One step closer than yesterday,
But I still can't see that far,
This feeling grows in me, day after day,
As I wonder where we are.
So relieved that nothing's secret,
Disappointed, things aren't how I'd hoped they would be,
Smiling 'cos nothing can hurt me,
Smiling 'cos you won't hurt me.
Memories becoming faded,
Reality shining through,
You hit me like star light,
I can't help but stare at you.
Cigarette butts and recyclables,
clutter up my room,
But even when I'm in the middle of this mess,
I know I'll see you soon.
Wake up just to feel,
You running through my veins,
Rest in my mind,
If you don't mind.
Colours becoming faded,
The sunlight carassing you,
You hit me and you knocked me down,
I need to get through to you.
Cigarette butts and recyclables,
clutter up my room,
But even when I'm in the middle of this mess,
I know I'll see you soon.
My tears, meaningless,
My fears, are not so scary,
These days, these days.
My tears, are all for you,
When I, am not with you,
My fears, are not so scary,
These days.
